They advertise in Fine Scale Modeler if that means anything.

As for the answer to your question... dunno. But since you mix the two parts, it certainly seems like an epoxy putty.

Acetone-based nail polish remover. I don't recommend washing your hands with solvent. In order for acetone to work, you'll have to soak your fingers for a few minutes, and that's bad. If you let the CA sit, it'll flake off your skin within a day, no carcinogen required. The natural oils in your ski...

Lacquer thinner works well, but is a bit overkill if you're spraying acrylics. I use acetone and it works exceptionally well for thinning and cleaning. Don't use the fake stuff they sell as nail polish remover it reacts differently with various brands of paint.

Is it possible to pour a thin layer of straight resin in the mold, slosh it around a bit until it sets, then pour another layer with the microballoons, slosh it around until it sets?<snip> Yes, but by the time you've poured your first layer, you would have what would amount to as a hollow casting (...

That method works for any kind of molding rubber that is stiff enough to support its own weight. The big problem you'll encounter if you cut your one-piece mold in half will be re-alignment. To do a 2-piece mold properly, you need to create interlocking keys. Simply cutting a zig-zag will not do eno...

Acetate shrinks is not a good plastic of choice for thermoforming. Styrene works well, but heats unevenly. By far the best (clear) plastic you can use for thermoforming is PETG (don't ask me what the acronym stands for). This plastic is inexpensive and widely available from plastic wholesalers in la...

Not true. Insulation works just as well to keep a building cool as it does to keep a building warm.

Kleen Klay does not contain sulfur and therefore it won't cause a reaction with your RTV (inhibit curing).

The microwaveability of it is the same as any other clay.

I usually go right to fiberglass and resin. one layer of fiber glass, and two to three coats of resin. Then sand and fill, and sand and fill and sand... Same here. 1 layer of 1.4oz (lightweight plain weave) fiberglass cloth and a couple applications of resin will solve your problems. You mig...

Sorry to hear that, you could have gotten a much better mini lathe at a cheaper price at Rockler. The JET mini-lathe is more reliable and far more stable at higher speeds.

Go for the Badger (number 1). You'll be happier with it in the long run because they are higher quality than the Paasche and you'll have a much easier time finding replacement parts and aftermarket accesories that will work with it. Also, avoid casting large solid parts. The more mass you cast, the more heat it creates (ruining your mold faster) and the more shrinkage you will have.

Simple paint thinner or mineral spirits on a rag, then use an old toothbrush for the corners.

Don't use anything hotter (lacquer thinner is a no-no) or else you risk damaging the resin.

Toss the Krylon in the trash and go buy yourself some Duplicolor primer or paint at the auto parts store. Duplicolor goes on and adheres much better to resin than Krylon.

Tamiya primer works well too but is hard to find. Both Duplicolor and Tamiya primers are Lacquer based.

Sometimes it can be a bad o-ring or washer.
If you use solvent based paints, then the plastic parts can become brittle over time and cause air to leak backward from the mixing tip.

A spot of blue will tone your stop sign red down a to the shade you want.
A touch of black would grey it a bit, but would give you a different color than the blue would.
