Using the enamel wash over the acrylic should work just fine. I would just do a test, with the particular thinning agent, prior to application. I have always just used straight mineral spirits and have never had an issue.

It looks identical to the Paasche model I bought, some time back. The specs seem to be the same as well. It wouldn't surprise me if the unit is the same as what I purchased, just packaged differently. Like previo0usly stated, it is a good starter set.

How about the bottom of a larger type aluminum can. I'm thinking of the quart or so sized can that some types of beer come in. A standard 12 oz Coke can is roughly 2.5 " at the bottom and is concave. Hope this helps.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but have you tried to use any of the Duplicolor paints? They have acrylic spray lacquers in a multitude of metallic sheens and colors. I was at a local auto parts store when I spotted these and didn't realize the range of colors that they had. I was purchas...

I recently purchased a Paasche D500SR but haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. It's 1/8 hp, included a moisture trap and regulator, and cost $122. The guys at my LHS swear by it but we shall see. Anyone here familiar with it?

It should be fine, with no ill results. I would definitely use the sealer that the paint manufacturer recommends. I used MM metalizer on my NX-01 but used regular dullcote to seal it. The effects I had, prior to sealing, disappeared entirely. My kit was the 1000 scale, so I don't know how much more ...

I hate to bump this thread, after so long, but I am in the market for a new compressor and have hit a dead end. I am looking for something very quiet, small, and portable. I live in a condo and plan on being here for several more years, so size and noise is an issue. I have been looking at several s...

I'm new to the board and just read your post, so sorry for posting several months after asking. I have used, with very pleasant results, a generic flat gray primer in a spray can. I think I purchased it at either Home Depot or Walmart. Many of the varying shades of gray used for aircraft model finis...
