Re: Air Brush Picks

Ok, I think the following is what I want: Manufacture: Iwata 1) HP-BCS Bottom feed, Large 2 in coverage 2) HP-CH Gravity feed, 1/3 ounce Cup, supposed to be hairline 3) HP-SB Side feed, Basically to see how it works Still considering the Badger 360, I kinda like the choices it offers. I also decide...

Re: Air Brush

If I had to chose among those brands, I would definitly go with Iwata. But there are a lot of other brands make good airbrushes. And most japanese made airbrushes are comparable to Iwata in quality, but usually a lot cheaper. Check out the Peak C-5 and X-5 at www.bearair.com. And they have some com...

Re: Air Brush

I am buying my 1st airbrush and this site has a lot of good info. I haven't decided yet but i think I might get 2, one for medium and large coverage ( Bottom Feed) and one for detail (Gravity feed).. I think it will be from 1 of the 3 companies, Paasche, Badger or Iwata. Haven't made up my mind, th...

Iwata has also come out with a trigger action ab: http://www.iwata-medea.com/index.php/products/hp_tr1/ It's a nice airbrush as well, but there are a few downsides. It's a sidefeeder, and I feel that most modellers are better suited with gravity fed airbrushes. It doesn't have any needle preset. I ...

I'm a bit biased, as I carry Grex in my store, but the Genesis XG is terrific alround airbrush. Iwatas HP-CS is very good as well. Both these airbrushes can do most the average modeller wants. I prefere the Grex, because of it's great internal chrome. In combination with acrylics, it is very low mai...

I would say that it depends on your budget. But also the size of the subjects. What scales/size do you build?

Just found this thread. Since I love airbrushes, and have tested a lot of them, I thought it could be fun to reply. At the moment I have a bit more than one. In alphabetic order: Badger 200: Still a good airbrush, but there´s nothing it can do, that others can´t. Efbe B1: Got this 2:nd hand a about ...

If it wouldn't cost a fortune in postage alone, I could have done it. But as it is, I'm sure you will be better of with a more local modeller. Try local clubs, or shops that trade in die cast models. I'm sure you'll find a solution.

It's not that hard work. I would give it a go myself first. Disasemble as much as possible. Strip the paint with something Mr Muscle Owen cleaner. Check the surface for imperfections, and fill and sand if needed. Mask of anything that shouldn't be painted. Use a good primer like Tamiya or Games Work...
