I'm guessing that it's likely a heisenbug (type of problem that seems to disappear or alter behavior when you make attempt to study it).

Re: Forum extra glitchy of late? - Delete this - IT's a glitch

I'm guessing the glitching could be from the result of: * nearing or exceed storage capacity -- i.e. there might not be sufficient free disk space for operation to complete * database may have ballooned in size. Perhaps a "shrink" may need to be performed on the data or the update logs. De...

Re: Styrene Rod with Wire Core?

Evern if we could really thin styrene rod, it'll probably apt to start bending/curling (when we don't want it to) when exposed to a bit of heat. Plastic-coated wire would not have such a problem.

And if you don't mind doing some cutting, ping-pong balls are around 40mm diameter (about 1.57")
and perhaps another thing that might be worth looking into -- fishing float/bobber/buoy -- I believe there are some that can be snapped apart.

I'm apt to scan the decal sheet before doing anything -- that way if disaster strikes, I've at least got something to work with (as a starting point) when trying to re-create the decals.

One thing that's a good idea to always have on your artwork -- a refence scale (e.g. a 1"x1" rectangle) so that you can make sure that things aren't getting distorted or resized. Frequently you might find that a scanned image imported into your drawing program may not print out the same si...

One thing to keep in mind is that the DPI (dots-per-inch) of your video monitor is likely to be much lower than what you'd have on a printer. At the low end of the scale for a printer might be 300dpi (more recent printers should would be capable of 1200dpi). Back when CRTs were common on microcomput...
