Re: Jumbo Spray booth?

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate this help. So it sounds like using a large box fan and tapering down from the fan to a standard Dryer duct hose doesn't work due to the severely reduced flow. My outside outlet is about 6x12 inches - one of those typical air outlets along the base of a garage ...

Re: Jumbo Spray booth?

Wow Ken, that is fantastic info - extremely helpful! Three points of clarification: 1000 CFM? That is a ton! Most bathroom fans do between 50-100 CFM. Wanted to double check I'm reading that right. 2 fans in a row - you mean side by side? dedicating an exhaust to each fan - you mean ducting away fro...

Jumbo Spray booth?

Hi all, I've been scratch-building a spaceship of my own design (check it out on my Instagram if you are interested: https://www.instagram.com/barracudabay/). It's about 4 feet long and soon I'll be painting it. I plan to build a spray booth and I've never made one before. I'm familiar with the conc...

Ugh...primer left a texture!

I primered my model, a 4 foot long scratchbuild, with krylon primer. It dried with a slightly Sandy texture to it. Not visible but you can feel it. I can't sand it down due to so much detail work. Is there some way to smooth it out, maybe with chemicals, without ruining the model?

Re: How to paint hull paneling?

Haha, thanks very much! Great advice. I will try that and I suppose I'll have to experiment with masking so as to minimize lifting undercoats. Appreciate the advice!

Re: Reco needed: single action gravity feed Brush?

Thanks very much Blappy! You dont mind the pistol trigger versus a more traditional top trigger? Id thought users would prefer the ability to "point" at their work with the index finger when doing more fine detail work....

Re: Reco needed: single action gravity feed Brush?

Thank you for the feedback! I wanted a Single Action as everything I've read about Duals is that they take a lot of practice. As this is my first time with an airbrush, I dont want to mess up the job over an over by starting with something too complicated. Is is possible to "lock" the Dual...

Reco needed: single action gravity feed Brush?

Hi all, I'm getting an airbrush setup and will get a Badger 250 for covering large areas (I'm working on a 4 foot model) but also want something for finer detail. The features I'm looking for are:

1. single action
2. gravity feed
3. easy cleanup

Any recommendations on a model? Thanks!

How to paint hull paneling?

Hi all, about to buy my first airbrush so I can paint my scratch-built spaceship. I'd like to get a n effect of the hull that looks like this: https://s14-eu5.ixquick.com/cgi-bin/serveimage?url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.newtek.com%2Fattachment.php%3Fattachmentid%3D97311%26amp%3Bd%3D1313082179&sp=3b8f5...
