Ahhh back, LOL

Yay I got married..... downside, less time for projects. Back on sanding... this is tedious work! The detail is so fine that I have having troubles getting into the fine cracks! I am going to try to slate a half hour a day for the next couple of months and see if I can get this rest to mold/cast! ht...

Sabding

I purchased same of their sanding sticks! Another question for down the road, any reccomedation on a substance I can use to fill in cracks of joined pieces on the final model to hide seanms? Hind sight i might have made this less pieces so less mold casting. But that die is cast! My molding casting ...

Neat design. looks like you've got a lot of clean-up work ahead of you. I do indeed and am trying to research the best way to do clean up. Unfortunately most DIY show how to polish larger items... this thing is very intricate in detail and I am having trouble seeing how to polish and sand the tiny ...

Tankmodeler wrote:That looks pretty sweet. Do you know what layer thickness was used for printing?

Paul

I did at one time, I do not remember now. I had them do it with the same printer that the firs piece was done.

Cannot wait to get the last printing round and get them all together. :)

Be updating soon...

Progress

Second set of prints done. Here is the front 2/3rds of the Battle Cruiser. The color difference you are seeing is the grey filler sprayed on the front half prior to sanding the printing imperfections. Look at the ship broken apart and you can see it is difficult to find the seam. :) We have the larg...

Hope that fan is strong. When I learned airbrushing , etc there was a golden rule. If you can smell it with the mask on it is already deposited in your lungs, which don't have a self-cleaning feature. Oh yeah i can not smell it. http://www.carvewright.com/2010CWweb/ideas/galleries/stl.php In this gallery I see examples that make me think I could use this for model making, but much like the 3d printing would require lots of clean up after. The two devices are the Click-N-Carve(whole line) and the Carvewright. I see I misunderstood some of the information. The depth(half inch) is the depth it can cut per pass not total depth but most units I can afford have a total depth of 3” which is plenty okay with me. I am not quite sure how to re...

CNC and 3d printing.

I might be on the wrong area? But i had a not so simple question to ask. I was looking to have a 3ds spaceship 3d printed to make mold and cast. I have done plenty of research on pricing between .02 and .006 machines and had just about signed off on moving forward. Then i stumbled on some affordable...

Re: Saving Money

What will determine the best bulkheads is an understanding of how you will mould the parts. Molding in two parts so the model will be hollow. The key to all of this is PLAN FIRST! Build second. I'm beginning to think this isn't how you normally approach a project... :) Well... Sort of, ;) Actually ...
