Re: 500 Error
Looking through the different topic sections I noticed that a thread dated 2011 and I know people have done threads there just in the past year, the title of said section is ask your question for SSM here. The problems seem to be getting worse. The post in that section is an announcement which neve...

Re: Site security
Funny, I just did as you suggested aitala, adding the s, and I do see the lock icon in the URL bar. So what's the risk here? Just spammers getting accounts and posting malicious links, or is there something else? IIRC, a malicious actor could intercept/read any information traveling between the SSM...

Re: Site security
It looks to me like it's just that SSM doesn't force your connection to be done via https. If I add that in front of the site address in the URL bar, I get the lock symbol that I see on most other sites (Banking, news, etc). I don't know much about website/forum hosting, but I assume there's probabl...

Re: Draft PMs
If you go to the manage PM drafts tab under Compose Message, then click Load Draft, it give you the ability to send it. It does seem that you need to re-add any recipients though.

Looks like the Excelsior thread was locked. Whether the deletion was intentional (And if it applies to the Batman thread as well) remains to be seen.

Re: Goodbye, Model Master (update)
Personally, it would make more sense to me if they were only cutting out the MM lines. Their models, standard paints and glue are carried by the likes of Michaels, while I've only ever seen the MM line in dedicated hobby shops. It can't be a cash cow, but there's got to be enough volume there making...

Re: anyone here good with arduino code?
I've never programmed with Arduino (although I do have experience with the Atmel chips used on them), so I may be overlooking something, but I think the issue is the PWM as you believed. As I understand it, PWM allows you to control the brightness of LED's without implementing any circuitry to contr...

Re: PCB design
For modeling purposes, I generally just use a large prototype board like this one, solder the circuit to it, and then cut it down to size afterwards. It's not pretty, but it's not visible in the model and it's generally cheaper to make 10-15 small circuits on a large board than to buy small prototyp...

Re: Picking a power supply
Based on Ant's parts/Numbers, you'd be looking at anything from 65 ohms to 260. Personally, I'd aim for 120s unless they're not bright enough.

Re: Soft Vinyl model needs some weight suggesstions needed for filler(s)!!!
Does it need to harden? I've only ever built a single figure, but when I did I filled the legs with sand and then capped it with a few pieces of styrene that I glued down. That was a few years ago, but it looks like it's still working to me.

Did you see the decals I threw in for a paint scheme inspiration? I was thinking maybe bare metal with red pin stripping from the decal sheet for “Big Wing”. I'm gonna guess he never got the decals, mostly because I don't remember putting them in the box... I don't remember taking them out o...

A large box arrived today. Everything appeared to survive in tact. I might make a few minor changes then get to finishing the big one. The smaller one needs a lot more work so I will see if I can do it too. \ Now that's fast. I didnt think you'd have it until midweek. Can't wait to see what you do,...

So, here's what I've been doing. I decided to work a bit more with the smaller one since it had a larger cockpit, and I figured I might be able to do more there. First thing I wanted to do was cover up the large hole in the back of the cockpit. I fiddled aroun with the idea of using some sheet styre...

Few days later you go to right to work, start cutting, glueing, etc and then realise halfway through when your hands are covere...

OK so how long is NX-17000 going to have it and how much time will I have? I'm going into full on Wonderfest crunch time now. That means I need to have it for as long as possible.
