Keep in mind that 3D printing goes by volume, and what you have is a pretty decent size (54 cm3), so its not going to be especially cheap.

Nope, unfortunately no gearing or belts. Just a small electric motor.

So I guess I'll just leave it alone. The base itself is only about 4" in diameter, and its a hemispherical shape, so I dont think there's enough room to fit a pulse width modulator in it.

Question about a battery powered turntable

I picked up a battery powered turn table/display base at the last meeting of hte model club I attend, and I was wondering if its possible to slow down the rotation of the display. Right now it rotates at 12rpm, and I'd like to slow it down so its only 3-5 rpm at most, which would make it much better...

So the new E-E model is molded in white plastic? I love the effect, and would love to do it w/ an E-D as well, but Ive only ever seen the ED molded in the light blue plastic which would be too opaque to pull this off.

A lot depends on what color plastic the model is molded in. I havent seen this kit, so I dont know, but if its molded in white, then chances are pretty decent that you can make it work. Take a look at hte build pages at this link, and it will explain exactly how to do it. The guy who did this, is a ...

Amazing work so far!! I have that kit in my "To Get to Someday" stash. I cant wait to start on it.

I love the scratch built hanger deck, I plan on doing the same. I also plan on lighting mine up. I like the idea of using EL sheet.

Im hoping to start working on a DS9 FO kit in the not too distant future, and plan on doing exactly the same thing. My plan is to use the small headphone jacks that Photoguy has suggested. My thought was this way I could put different ships in what ever positions have the jacks, as long as all the s...

I run a 2200 watt max output CO2 Laser Welder at my job. Its part of a 5 axis CNC system. Probably not quite exactly what you were asking about, haha.

Ive never thought about the possibility of using it for other stuff, haha. I might have to play around w/ it some time.
