Years ago I saw a modeller use a soft grey paste (similar in consistency to toothpaste) to fill the gaps on a badly fitting model aircraft. Once this had dried, he sanded it smooth to obscure the gap. I've been trying to find out what this paste was ever since but all my efforts have been unsuccessf...
