Found a few more... actually I thought that I had lost those pictures in one of my latest HD cleanup. And no, I don't have these figures anymore (sold or given away), except for the last one "Tutu" (the ballerina) that I made for my wife. She needs some restoration though. The figure, not ...

I forgot to mention that I don't build only plastic kits. I build and paint also resin figures from e2046 and I proceed exactly the same way. I didn't have any problem to the date. :) The proofs in the puddin! Lets see some pictures of your builds. Here it is two of them. Will find pics of others a...

Model Master is an excellent brand. I love it and currently is my favorite. Now it's possible that a clear coat give the darkening effect (specially the glossy) but actually it will be acting over all colors and not only this blue. It does mean that the balance of colors will be altered. In any case...

If your compressor is providing air at a constant pressure and the thinning of the paint is correct, the uneven flux of air may be a symptom that there is something wrong internally with the airbrush. You should be aware that the regular clean after the use doing backwash, etc, is not enough. From t...

Certain pigmentation have more coverage power than others. One of the characteristics that make it happens is the amount of solid particles the paint has (that's why metallic paints has an excellent coverage). Enamel paints are made out of a base clear with pigment added to it. It means that the qua...

I have gotten very good advice about Perfect Plastic Putty in other forums so I ordered it and am awaiting it to arrive and see if it is that good. As said by other modelers the main advantages is that it is water based so you can apply it and then level it easily with a damp rag (or even the finger...

I should disagree that the "manufacturer's thinner" will work better. It doesn't make any sense. Enamels, differently from other types of paint, follows a standard formulation. Till the date I couldn't find ANY enamel that won't work with hardware store general use spirit. Really, an ename...

People uses primer for two reasons... 1) even the surface to find imperfections 2) anchor the paint OK, I started modeling very long ago when you just painted (or not!) your models so I never used primers. Personally I think it's just an unnecessary product just to make people spend a bit more money...

I paint with enamels and never have seen it before, although I use regularly hardware store spirit (but used odorless spirit once). If it happened to only one paint is more likely to me that the paint may be spoiled. I don't see how a paint thinner could lighten the color. Maybe an expired date (old...

I use the old "good" (well not too good IMO) Tamiya white. But I never was truly happy with it. First it always shrinks after dry. Second it always have tiny portions "pulled out" when I sand leaving small holes. It forces me to apply a new layer and wait till it gets completely ...

How to cut rectangle micro windows?

So, I just received my 1:1400 Enterprise E kit and am studying how to prepare it for lighting. The main issue I am facing at the moment is how to cut the micro-windows that may have roughly 0.5 x 3mm.

Ideas? Tips?

You cannot simply hook a LED strip to an Arduino board. In the best scenario it won't lite and in the worse it will burn the Board. For the hardware side you will need a transistor (a PN2222 should work). Also you will need the code. But everything depends on what you are lighting, the desired effec...

Personally I have concern about a long run endurance. You may have a quick result with a variety of glues but it can snap off along the time. I think that the best option is the CA to stick it momentarily to the place and then make the real thing with epoxy glue.
