Re: Powering LEDs without resistors
OK thanks. I guess that explains why they're all fairly large chunky devices. Ideally I'd like to wire them all my LEDs/SMDs to 1 resistor for the whole lot close to the power source end of the circuit (my LED/SMD circuit will be a parallel one), so that I don't have a bulky resistor in the way when...

Powering LEDs without resistors
Hey all I'm currently planning a project and I'm wondering, purely for ease of soldering, if I can get away with not using resistors for my LEDs. Most of the LEDs will be the 0805 SMD type. And besides making my life easier when it comes to soldering I also cannot work out what resistor I need to us...

I think you will struggle to find a solution more effective than just a switch. Thanks, yes I'm thinking that as well. I've considered buying some 3.7v 14500 or 16340 2300mah rechargeable batteries (basically AA or CR123A sized), using 2 of them (they should just about fit inside the X-Wing) to giv...

Batteries drained in 2-3 days despite LEDs being off?
Hey all I have a 1/43 AMT X-Wing which has 4 LEDs in it, one for each engine. It was powered by one 3V CR2032 battery and had an on/off switch (which I had installed under R2D2 and used him as the button). The battery was still working even after a few months, but I hadn't really had the LEDs lit al...

Powering LEDs with 3.7v Lipo
Hello New to the forums, very new to starship modelling, and even newer to lighting them up... I have a Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise Refit kit that I would like to light up. I have a lighting kit - it provides light for the impulse engines, warp nacelles, impulse crystal, deflector dish, torpedo l...
