It was black primer for light-blocking. I was painting with XF-12 IJN Gray. I used alcohol to thin it. Like Mark Yungblut said, a light primer might have been better in this case since JN Grey is fairly light in color. All I use is 91% Isopropyl Alcohol with Tamiya paint - always. Normally, I use a...

For Tamiya I always use 91% Isopropyl Alcohol ( I read One-Zero recommend that somewhere ) and I found that Createx cuts well with white vinegar. Do not use alcohol with Createx or you will get cottage cheese. I also use white vinegar as my decal set, so it has more uses than pickling stuff or on a ...

I'm gonna second the hardware compressors, and you can get them anywhere from $50 to $100 for a decent size. I recently switched from my silent tankless model compressor to a 2 gallon hardware compressor and love the difference. I may step up to one that can handle higher pressure and with a larger ...

Without trying to sound like a complete jerk, I would say as long as it stays moist ( not Jimi's kind of moist ), it's good. If it dries out, it's bad. I say squeeze it out and put it into some sort of air tight container and give it a shot. You don't have anything to lose. But I'm also a cheap bast...

Also, maybe less coats between drying times. I got to thinking that 5 might have had something to do with it to. Maybe just go with 2 or three before letting dry completely.

I've been having similar problems with Krylon Crystal Clear. Even some crackling that's got me pretty PO'd. Thankfully that was on a prop that I wanted to look old anyway, so the crackling sort of works. I don't think I'm going to use it anymore. Going to stick with Future from the airbrush. It migh...

Anybody know how to turn down the ink flow on an Epson printer? I picked up an Epson C86 printer last week, because the DuraBright inks are supposed to be smudge, water, and fade resistant. Perfect for making decals, no? No. Unlike the HP printer that I have where I can set it to Best/Photo, and the...

Thanks Owen, I was afraid you were gonna say that. :x I've got some used chemlights I was wanting to use for 1/1000 nacelles (just for a different look), but I guess I need to test them with paint before I get too set on using them.

I'm a little slow. What are some of the products that are made with polyethylene?
