Re: Gloss & Dull coats

That's what I was afraid of. A couple of waterslide decals have to go on areas that I have painted metallic silver, so I guess I will apply Future to those spots (and use Micro-Set & Micro-Sol). Afraid to apply the decals without a gloss finish.

Thanks for the info.

Re: Gloss & Dull coats

I got into modeling last year and have a question regarding the finishing coat I plan to use on my current build, was hoping for a little input if anyone has the time. I'm currently building the Bandai R2-D2/R5-D4 kit (which is excellent in my opinion) and am completing the R5 droid first to help ir...

Re: Help needed with dullcoating Testors Metallic

Thanks for the info guys. Sorry I'm just responding, been out of town for a few days. BTW, Pledge Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish is also known...

Help needed with dullcoating Testors Metallic

I'm new to modeling and recently picked up Bandai's R2-D2/R5-D4 kit. (Which I was amazed with. I paid 25 dollars and couldn't believe the quality). Anyway, for the silver parts I used Testors Gloss Metallic Silver Spray paint 1246 and afterward learned that Testors says it cannot be dull/gloss coate...

Hey Mascaw,

Did you locate these instructions?

I can provide you a copy of mine if you still need them. I have the AMT '89 Batmobile, but it is the first version (without the pull-out engine and pop-up computer panel in front of windshield).

I use Tamiya gray for fine gaps but have had success with Perfect Plastic when filling large gaps if I follow a couple of steps I've picked up through trial and error. example - I built the Revell Build and Play Star Destroyer and filled in the landing gear/display stands using this method: 1. Apply...
