What does your circuit diagram look like? It might be the position of the LED.

I see what you mean. I didn't use a diode on my 555 circuit because you can vary the flash through one of the resistors. My circuit only has three resistors, one capacitor, and one LED, in addition to the 555. If I vary the value of R2 on the instructables LED flasher project, I can speed up or slow...

Lighting the TARDIS

I've recently completed my first scratch build TARDIS which can be seen in the On The Bench forum. I would like to build a circuit to control the flashing light on top. Go to your local discount store and buy a dress making pattern. The paper that these are printed on is already the right colour. Just wet it down with glue and it will stiffen up as it dries. You can then dry brush some highlights or low lights as needed.

Try a hamster ball from a pet store. They are made out of styrene and you should be able to separate them at the main seam.

LEDs for beginners

I found this article on the web today. It looks like it might be useful to an LED newbie, much like it was to me.

I too strongly recommend straining. When you mix in your thinning agent, some of the pigments will clump. You might also get some dried residue in your bottle over time that will clog your airbrush.

I just watched a couple of guys cut a bunch of plexi into windows. They used an angle grinder with a cut off blade in it. I would suggest that a cut off blade in your dremel would work just as well. Draw your line and then make several passes until you are through the material. You will have lots of...
