Nah, it's plenty durable to air cool. Just don't stick your piece in water
to cool it faster. Both the brass and the solder could 'shock cool' causing
them to crack. It's not as much a problem when soldering as with Brazing
since youre working at a lower temp, but it could happen.

If those pieces are white metal, and they look like they are. Then solder wouldn't do at all. The melting points of the two are very close together. And I don't think they like each other very much anyway. Your best bet would be to drill holes into the piece and into the end of the barrel's then pin...

Here we go. I forget who's pic this is. But perhaps it'll clear things up a
bit. I thought the button looked a little tacky so I hit opon the idea of
using the center disk itself as the button.

I'm Looking for the teeny tiniest push on/off
Found this at Radio Shack.
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?c ... d=275-1555
So far it's the smallest I've found and it'll work if need be.
But does anyone know of any smaller?
Or any with the least amount of button travel?

Bondo is great stuff.
If it's mixed to a nice light pink color Then its just about right.
And if you'll be using a bunch of it like Alex here
http://www.alexkung.com/scale/serenity/cmain.htm
Then its allot easier on the wallet.

Self learned and did all myself. http://public.fotki.com/shrugger/eagle_11/ In one of the pix you can see the torch I'm using. I think it was $6 at Lowe's and works great. Unless what your building is huge and you need all the structural strength you can get, then brass tube would be alot easier to ...

Need some snow help
A friend of mine is creating a simple snow covered base for one of his tanks. He built up the snow with 'Sculpta mold' to where he liked it. He then used 'acrylic gel medium' to completely coat the sculpta and then shook a half salt shaker of 'baking soda' onto it. It turned out to be the most reali...

AARGH...Sanding perfectly flat 90 º?
Well, the leading wing edges of my CC X-wing need a little smoothing. Little bit rough and a couple tiny bubbles here and there. So I'm wet sanding as carefully as I can to keep the flat edge but its still coming out slightly curved. Probly no one would ever notice the very slight curve, but being t...
