Hey, Kenny. I'm fairly new with the wiring and lighting myself. I just finished installing a very generic light kit into the U.S.S. Reliant. I used to exit light bulbs I got from work that are used in aircraft, some basic wire, crimmps, a switch and a 9 volt battery. It's generic but it's working. O...

Well, I had some rubbing alcohol in house. It was the good stuff, 91%, and used it on Clear Green for Warbird Nacelles. It worked like a champ.

Lots of good advice here. I'll experiment with some alcohol as a thinner and see what happens.

On the windshield wash.....it's blue. Wouldn't that create a problem? I'm applying Clear Green paint.

Tamiya Paints In An Airbrush?

I finally found the paint I needed for my Romulan Warbird. Now my question is this.
Since Tamiya paints are alcohol base, is it good just to thin it with rubbing alcohol for airbrushing or should I use something else?

Thanks in advance.

I just haven't found it yet. The only shop near me doesn't sell Tamiya paints. A friend mentioned another that I didn't know about. I'll check it there.

And excuse my ignorance but what is "Future?"

Substitute for Clear Green/Transparent Green Paint

I need to pain the clear plastic parts of a Romulan Warbird a Transparent Green but as I can find none anywhere where I live, I could use a suggestion as to what is a good substitute. Maybe a Bright Green really thinned out or mixed with a bit of Light Yellow. I intend to airbrush them. Any suggesti...

Airbrush Tips

OK, folks, I'm looking for airbrushing tips. I bought a basic Testor kit for mixing basecoats and mixing single colors for large areas not sold in spray cans. I guess I'm afraid of screwing things up beyond repair. Any suggestions are welcomed as I am quite the noob with it.

Thanks, Zog. I intended to use LEDs in a few places on it. BUT, would an LED work for passing light over the saucer section, like a logo light. Or should I use a small, regular light? Wiring won't be an issue as I do avionics on aircraft.

Lighting Question: USS Reliant

Hey all. I'm looking for some advice on lighting an AMT model kit not set up for it, namely the USS Reliant. I just thought it would be fun to add a different dimention to it. In both saucer halves, I thought to have a white light placed beneath each bridge. They cover the hole I made and the light,...
