^^^^^ Those will work ^^^^^. I use straight Simple Green and suspend my dried brushes in a jar for a day or two (don't leave the brush sitting on it's bristles or they could bend) and the dried paint turns to a jelly and is easily washed out. If you're using natural hair brushes use a small dab of h...

Sorry can't help you with the paint as I'm in the same boat. I ordered an M1918 tank from Shapeways, cleaned throughly, primed and then painted with Testors enamels. Two weeks later it still isn't cured. Personally I think enamel paint and 3D printing plastic hate each other. I'm going to have to st...

It's only happened once to me and with a can of WalMart primer. It was fine for a few weeks then I put it away and the next time it shook fine no obvious clumping in the can but when I tried to spray it a thin stream of what resembled cream came out. I can only guess the propellant might have leaked...

Another vote for acetone here and lighter fluid. To clean files of resin or metal i use a small brass suede brush and when they're clean some pool cue chalk rubbed onto the file will help prevent re clogging.

I've used Micro Sol and Set for years now without any problems (apart from ones I created  ) They are great for hard to decal surfaces.

Oh boy I feel your pain. I've had the same thing happen to me a few times usually because I didn't give the decals enough time to set down on the surface or I didn't use enough decal set. Sadly I don't know of a rescue method for coated decals. Hopefully someone can chime if with a rescue plan. Fing...

I washed several other parts from the Pegasus kit with soap/water followed by a good dose of Comet. Primer adhered very well after drying the parts. Thanks again Malcolm!!! :8) My pleasure, glad it worked out. :) Looking at the surface it was nearly glass smooth, I don't think the primer could bond...

I'm not an expert, unlike many here. But when I've had primer adhesion problems it's usually down to mold release still on the kit. I've had resin kits that have seemed clean after washing and then it's almost like the resin is bleeding fresh mold release. Usually a scrub with Simple Green cleans th...

Um, "talcam powder trick"? It was on only long enough to spray the model and probably 20 minutes to dry somewhat. It's something one of the old guys at the club showed me. Lets say you want to mask something but don't have any masking/painters tape and the shops are shut. Take whatever ta...

Not all painters tape is created the same. I know from my time in the hardware store that there are different grades of adhesive used. Some very low tack. Check the roll labels for the adhesion rating, some will say "low tack" or use a number system 1 low tack 10 high tack. Or if all else ...

Recently my wife was marking out a route on a map on her laptop lid. Well when she was done an exact copy had bled through the paper onto the plastic. Lighter fluid removed the Sharpie without damaging the plastic. I suggest you try it on a spare piece of sprue first to be sure it doesn't harm the s...

Krylon (I think) make a natural aluminum and a shinier "chrome aluminum". Both give a very nice smooth finish.

I've used both on prop resin badges with good results.

Thanks for the help everyone. I took over a dozen models/figures into work and primed them. So I've got my fix for the time being. Well everyone has there own preferences when it comes to primer. I usually stick to the white primer from either Lowes or Home Depot. If you're in the UK Halfords make a nice primer that I used for years without any problems. The best thing you can do with a resin kit is to ensure all traces of the ...

Too cold to prime...HELP!!!

I've got a small backlog of models I really want to get on with but it's too cold outside to prime (0 to +6 F at the best) I can brush prime a few but I don't want to brush prime the Landing Ship from Jimi as it will ruin the panel details. Can anyone recommend a good brush on primer for resin and w...
