Re: How Do You Start?
For the last few years, I start, after getting an idea, by sitting quietly until the urge passes and do something else.

Re:
Tenax and Ambroid are almost exactly the same. The active ingredient is methylene chloride. I have heard this before. Is this the entire mix,or is there another ingredient? I recall once reading that there was a certain chemical you could buy in gallon containers, and it would last forever as a sty...

Re: What's a dental vacuum former?
If all I knew about a dental vacuum former was that I had some modicum of familiarity with the English language I would expect it to be a device which forms a dental vacuum much like how a fuselage former on a stick and tissue airplane forms the fuselage shape. Now, as to what a dental vacuum is an...

Re: Best online source for hemispheres?
While an old thread, I am surprise noone mentioned plastruct.com They have 357 different kinds of domes, some are like skylight, some are flattish and others are 1/2 hemisphere in various sized up to 6 inches or so. I used them extensively for fuel tank bulkhead and antennae's. https://plastruct.com...

Re: DIORAMAS you would like to build
I have started gathering kits to do a diorama based on the Twilight Zone Episodes "Phantom's of the Seventh" in which an armored cavalry crew of the MT National Guard goes back to the Little Bighorn and is killed. It will include an M5 Stuart with 5 crewman, 2 cavalry troopers, one behind ...

Re: Any ideas to prevent losing small parts?
I have done the following: 1. Cut the part in a plastic bag. 2. Tape the part to a piece of masking tape. 3. Cut the part and a portion of the runner (sprue). Use the sprue as a handle to glue the part on. After its attached, snip the runner, and touch up the part. Works for landing gear, antennae, ...

Re: Black/blue paint
Not being the world's best painter, I do have three observations: 1. Many people add two or three drops of blue to white paint to prevent yellowing. Not sure if this technique would not result in a Blue Black. Requires experimentation, which I am sure you have done. 2. Tamiya offers a pearlescent wh...

Re: Questions? I Got Your Questions Right Here, Buddy.
On the Forum Home Page I do not see an indicator informing me new posts are present. When I hover the mouse over them, I see the help balloon saying "Unread Posts" or "No Unread Posts". The below shows what I am not seeing. Well, I would insert the image, but apparently I can't d...

Re: Questions? I Got Your Questions Right Here, Buddy.
Is there a way to graphically highlight when a section has unread/new posts? If its doing it, I don't see it. Mousing over works, but it isnt' as easy.

well, it seems to have been my mission in life to try to counter these air force claims. The air force claims that it had beat down the Republican Guard to less than 50% strength, that they could not communicate, had no supplies, and were short of everything you can imagine, except maybe US Air Stri...

I was thinking that simply from the mobility aspect, a flying tank might be militarily very useful, even if it did have to sit down to fire. I don't believe that we're ever going to see a situation like that at Kursk again, or even the tank battles of North Africa. I think they're going to be more ...
