Bending Hobby Blades

I've heard of modeller's creating (bending) blades that they have bent to a certain angle for their projects. Can anybody share how to do this?

Would like to be able to adjust the speed on the LEDs. Are there any schematics or project circuit kits that will create this effect?

LED chaser/running circuit

I have a simple 10 LED chaser circuit that I just put together. Would like to try and make not just one LED light up and go out as it moves along the row of LEDs but instead would like to have a group of 3 or 4 LEDs light up and go out moving along the line with variable speeds. Is this possible wit...

I have a 10 LED chaser circuit put together on a breadboard. I got it to work but just having some difficulty understanding rearranging the wires. Forgive me, but I'm rather new to this kind of stuff but not sure what VCC means and not sure where to rearrange the LED connection. Worried that I might...

Thanks for the replies. I was looking on youtube and found something pretty close to what I'm trying to make. But I would like to make the LEDs go just in one direction with just 8 LEDs instead of 12.

thanks for responding, Mr. Engineer. Believe I have space for the chip you described. Don't know much about the chip you are describing. This is all new to me. Would like to give it a try though Where does one get a programmable micro chip controller and how do you program it to possibly get the eff...

A reverse LED chaser circuit

I'm somewhat familiar with electronics. I've put together a few simple project kits over the years. That's pretty much the extence of my electronic skills. But I,m trying to find schematics or curcuit for, what I believe would be called, a reverse LED chaser. A normal LED chaser would have 5 or 10 L...

Is it possible to make a casting of a balloon?

Here's a crazy question. I'm working on a project that requires a large hollow egg shape, about 2 feet tall. I've looked at plastic eggs but they don't quite have the shape I'm looking for. The closest that I've found is an inflated balloon. Would like to try and make a hollow casting of it. If this...

Air bubbles in resin casting

I just made a couple of two part rubber molds and I'm getting some tiny air bubbles in the castings. Some times the resin castings turn out okay but others have a few air bubbles in them. Tried pouring the resin in very slowly and using the "burping" technique and have also made a crude ce...

Scratchbuilding 1/32 logs

I,m working on a 1/32 diorama that requires logs. Tried actual tree brachnes but just doesn't look right. So, I've been experimenting on scratchbuilding some logs. Just tried some FIMO clay. Seems to work. Was wondering if anybody had any other techniques of creating miniture logs themselves. Thanks...

Where to purchase small acrylic balls

Hi,
Does anybody know where I can get some small plastic balls? I know that Plastruct sells them but I just want to know if there are other companies that sell them. Looking for sizes that range from 15mm to 25mm in diameter.

Thanks,

I have tried super glue to fill the imperfections but didn't work as well as I had hoped. I have used putty but constantly have to reputty areas to get it right. Haven't tried the epoxy and gotten wooden balls from Hobby Lobby. Didn't like the results. Will give the epoxy a try.

Thanks!

Problem scribing lines on resin casting

Hi, I made rubber molds of a 20mm ball bearing. Molds came out just fine. I poured resin (por-a-cast) into the molds and the casting come out fine also. What I need to do is scribe some lines on these casting but when I attempt this I run into small air bubbles just under the surface of the resin wh...

Yes, En'til Zog, it is the Super Styrene sold by Midwest Products. I will try some Tenax-7R, or Pro-Weld as suggested by Owen E Oulton!

Thanks!

What type of glue for ASA plastic?

Hi, Just purchased some plastic rod and strips from Midwest Products. I've tried using Testor's liquid glue but it doesn't melt the plastic. I hate to use super glue because I need some time to adjust the plastic before it sets. The platic is made of ASA (Acrylonitrile-Styrene-Acrylester). What type...
