If you can use 0.60 acrylic rather than styrene, you might get better results. All the styrene cuts I had kind of over melted, and sometimes curled. :? It depends on how strong the laser is. A stronger machine produced better results. I've used Pololu for both acrylic and styrene. They are reasonab...

I think the plaster I used had a shrink rate of 3%. Another brand was 8%. I can't remember what they were. I recomend using hemp rope to make the plaster stonger.

You could fill it with sand.

Generally I like to cut and roll it - make one slice, roll it, slice, roll it, etc. I use a Tamiya Razor saw which cuts very well.

I've decided to get one of these:

It might be worth looking into since you don't have to convert it.

For little jobs I like to use Pam cooking spray dabbed on with a cotton swab.

Talcum powder keeps the stuff from sticking. I usually use water to sculpt the stuff, so if it's wet enough, it won't stick.

I've considered using Pam cooking spray, but haven't used it yet.

Hope this helps, Rob

It's not putty, it's clear mixable epoxy glue. It's been plenty hot here and I've heard heat can soften epoxy although I don't know if it does it once it's set... If part of it hardens and part of it doesn't, it's suspect to me. You would be better off getting rid of it. You don't want something so...

I've never heard of epoxy taking so long to dry. All the brands I've used dry very quickly. I think you have a bad batch, or it wasn't mixed equally.

The best thing to do is rip as much of it out as you can and start over with a new batch.

Is this epoxy resin or epoxy putty?

I have used plaster to make molds of of clay patterns. I was able to make more than one because I was careful with the clay. It just needed some minor repair afterwards. Here's a link: http://public.fotki.com/robertburns/my_models/art_center_speed_form/the_process/ Keep in mind clay shrinks. The mas...

To align it, I use scotch tape. I put the photo etch on the sticky sticky side. I then put it where I want it. I burnish one half of the tape. When I'm ready to glue, I lift up the unburnished side to apply the glue. When the tape is returned, it automatically goes where it is supposed to. For glue ...
