Finding a resistor for your LED (Easy & Fast)
What may be easy for some is difficult for others. So I've added a playlist to my channel 'Captain's Academy'. Each 5-10 min video will teach a new skill no matter your age group or ability. From Mold/cast making, painting and lighting. Please share so others can make awesome projects and inspire us...

Re: Custom F11D Blaster Electronics
That was quite neat and interesting what can be done with the arduino these days. I do like the voice description of the settings and the ability to put in your own sounds. You would probably get more interest from the 501st people. The board does look big though but you did say you have a 3D print...

Detailed wiring tutorial video
After many, many years of blowing LEDs, resistors, Arduinos etc. I learnt a lot and wanted to save everyone the frustrations of a circuit not working. So I've made a quick video on my YouTube channel detailing everything from soldering, wiring, and insulation. Including what tools you'll need and wh...

Custom F11D Blaster Electronics
Home made custom light & sound electronics for my blaster using my girlfriend's voice to indicate it's various modes. Feedback welcome, as I'm thinking of making this as a product next year where you can use your own sound files - cheers https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xy1nrFSk9QLQ55-yXN5s5shzo...

12v LED strip - Can I use 'any' 12v adapter?
Hi everyone - just when I thought lighting was getting easier
...If not, how can I work out what adapter to get for a model populated with roughly 1 and a half meters of LED strip?
I heard that I may need to find out the watts of the adapter.

How do I make a pole stand?
Hi everyone :) I'm usually good at working out how to best build things, but this one has me a little stumped. I'm lighting the Round2 Enterpride D and need to mount it on a home made pole stand using DIN plugs, which I already have (Similar to TrekModeler's product). My request is:- Assume lots of ...

Thanks for the feed back. I got in contact with TrekModeler, and they're developing a lighting kit for the Enterprise D (which is my project). Seeing the amazing lighting kits they've developed for the Enterprise A models. I'm going to bite my wallet and fork out for the extra expense of getting it ...

Opnion on Enterprise D flashing light colour and speed
Hi all,
Putting in an order for a lighting kit. But before I do I need to be sure on the colour of the flashing lights speed and colour.
My eyes tell me that they are ALL yellow and all flash at the same time at the same speed.
What do your beady eyes tell you?

Anyone know of UK based lighting kit supplier?
Hi all,
I've found plenty of sites based in the US that make and supply lighting kits for Star Trek models. But this means it'll cost me a lot more for shipping and buying an appropriate voltage adapter.
Anyone know of anyone in the UK that produce a similar product/service?

Clear resin in a nightmare to get right as it shows any air bubble. In my experience any man made industrial chemical will have some sort of toxic vapour come from it when it's curing. Just make sure you have the windows open and you'll be fine. There's a couple of resins that give off cyanide but a...

I've done a couple of head casts in that way. What I do when I use resin is just use a little more catalyst as instructed and pour just enough of the mix in the mould to cover the inside surface. This will pick up every detail and produce little of no air bubbles and then slush it around. Not too lo...

:? Right...I decreased the voltage to a non life threatening 9V and pulled back the amps to a gentle 20mA (Don't want to blow up the Enterprise or the Borg will invade earth) and I've double checked my ohms law calculations.. Have I got this right :?: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g240/s...

Is this LED diagram right?
Hi all After reading the forums and learning from the links, I've managed to draw up a LED circuit diagram to light my beloved Enterprise D. However, before I go down to Maplins (Radio Shack) and spend money and time on the risk that everything will blow, is there anyone out there that can cast thei...

Lighting the Enterprise D (Ertl) HELP!!!!
Hi Everyone. Since I was 16 I've been trying to light the Enterprise D for years now and destroyed 3 models while doing it. I'm a good model maker and I know how to use a soldering iron but not the first idea about how to wire it all up. I've seen some really cool examples of ones that look exactly ...
