Questions about fiberglass (hollow part construction)
I have had some folks recommend to me that when building a large model, to try and cast it using fiberglass and cloth to make the model lighter. I know (in a VERY basic sense) about the process but was wanting to know if anyone knew of a book or online tutorial out there that I can read or study bef...

If they are, they could be scaled to the proper size and parts could be cut from either the file or printed sheet. I am doing my first scratchbuild project of the USS Excelsior at 1/350th scale and I am try...

Scratchbuilding complex shapes
Hello All, I am inspired by all of the truly talented people here at SSM and have learned a great deal by reading and posting in the forums. To this point, I have never scratchbuilt any models. But now I feel like I want to try. I have chosen for a subject, the USS Excelsior. I want to build her in ...

I came across this site this morning while surfing the net. They have fiber optic strands/cable with multiple strands, LED's and lots of other neat stuff.
