Re: Hover tank challenge
Hello Scotaidh I must have felt a disturbance in the force, It has been an age since I looked on the site, yet tonight a few hours after you post, here I am. I did start work on that recent idea. 100% scratch build. I successfully cut the top of my finger of with a mini circular saw while doing it. ...

Re: Super Leopard Mk-XI Grav Tank
What a beautiful and clean design. Very nice, though I spotted the AT-AT face parts as vents, I felt the whole thing seemed completley orginal. Nice work Blappy

Re: Hover tank challenge
Hi Dr Yo
Hmm, I have something thats been a long time sat on the back burner. It hovers, but is more patrol craft than Tank. We shall see what this year brings.
Have a good 2018.

Happy Christmas Dr Yo
Nice to see this old Forum is alive again.
I have been a missing member from this site for a long time. Life is to busy, I havn't picked up a paint brush for 1/4 year.
Maybe this should be my New Year resoloution?

Sorry gentlemen and ladies of SSM, I too never normally check out this forum, and so by chance have only just found this news. While I have far less knowledge of En'til Zog in person, I found his posts always useful and exchanged with him during the second BOS challenge. My condolences go out to all...

Masao I like the thought your putting into your design. I agree ( and I've seen hovercraft demonstrating the same movement you describe) that a HT can turn on its axis while maintaining the same direction of travel. It would need a recoiless weapon though to overcome the effects of firing perpendic...

Sorry One Zero but what does C/BT stand for? My design will use the C/BT countergrav It will probably be obvious but I'm stumped right now. :? I hear you all about the wish to have something near done before posting and I'll admit I've a second build on the go that will take a lot longer and is actu...

Hi Blappy I'm reading about Zero Point energy right now. All good stuff even if its still out of reach. I wonder about No moving parts ? The accounts I read have a ceramic disc rotating at high speed as the intiater of AG lift. While there are far less parts to wear out than a conventioanl engine I ...

hi publiusr Yep, I've used the computer mouse before for a shaped mantlet. On a Trade Fed 'Jagd' Conversion. Also had ball and chain screen ala Merkava on the rear. Firstly hi mike robel I learnt something new from your post about the East German border. HWR MkII Nope, no car hoods in the build, though the nose certainly looks like one now. DennisH I hope its not too obvious. :D ironically after i sawed of the cylon wing tips and then added the newer wings it looked like a cylon ship again. the cylon engines were a bit obvious too but i'm notorious...

Hi all, You will see this is still very much a work in progress, lots of sanding and filling to be done but the body is pretty much done regarding its overal shape. The underneath still requres some more grills and thrusters as do the wing tips and rear of the engine block. blending of joints and ad...

Hi all, Purposley no photos Sunday, as well as needing a lot more sanding, It still is in its original colours from the doner kits, and as I don't want you guessing too easily :D what the parts are, I want to get some primer on it first. Progress though has been great. Nice engine grill all done, de...

Hi DarKev I think you should post your Question in the Hovertanks Challenge thread and the originator- HWR MkII can decide http://www.starshipmodeler.net/talk/viewtopic.php?t=80155 I do recall the line that they had some sort of supporting legs, and all other realisations of Martian war machines hav...

Cenebar Please do enter- the more the merry. You point about altitude is good too. the boundary between Helicopter type vehicle and tank type vehicle become increasingly blurred when one talks about it's operational range and height. Add too the Soviet WIG's and any direction is justified. And I lo...

Hi Blappy Looks very plausable due to its simplicity, and no chance of gain saying where the hull comes from as its going to be made bespoke. Will it have crew items added to the outside ( tools, crew hand grips, stowage racks for tarps) or is everything under armour to keep its stream line / stealt...

Cenebar thanks for posting, I'm going to quote some of your thoughts to stimulate disscusion, I hope you don't mind as its not personnal in any way but does show the different sides to the HT thought process. It has to have frontal forks to detonate buried mines before the main body hovers over the...
