"Strobe effect" from a 4060 timer
Hi all. I have read Zog's article on using 4060 chips to flash leds several times. I finally took the plunge and bought the components to make some of these for use in my starships. I can get the steady on off blink rate for position lights no problem. What I need help with is how to get the rapid p...

Excelsior Class Lighting
Well, I have stripped both my Excelsior and Enterprise-B. I have the DLM lighting parts. I have decals and I've started modifiing the kit parts to accept the DLM parts. I need a simple way to light these beasties. I read the 4060 thread. It gave me some ideas. It sounds like I can wire up one 4060 a...

I had the same issue with a bottle of Stainless Steel Alclad. I spoke to the owner at Nats and it turns out there was a problem with the paint. He gave me a free replacement right there! Send Alclad an e-mail telling him what's wrong with your project and see what he says, you might get a free bottle.

OK I've come over to the darkside and started to use Future. I airburshed some on an old junk kit and it looked OK. I airbrushed some on a project last night and I got small pits in the finish. It also pooled an a couple of places. From reading thie thread I get the impression that you can sand Futu...

What kind of Flat coat do you use?
I'm wondering what kind of flat coat people use. I have used Testors acrylic flat coat for years. I sometimes get questionable results with it. yellowing, not looking flat, etc. so I was wondering what other options are out there. Thanks.

Good way to make square windows
Hi all,
I'm planning a new project. I would like to light the ERTL Cardassian Galor class. I think i've got a handle on the lighting part. However the Galor has a lot of rectangular windows. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how I can get consistant windows.
Thanks!
