Re: 25th Anniversary, right?

Wasn't there a forum migration/software change at some point that led to many of us who were here relatively early getting our join dates and post counts reset? Case in point -- I think Zaphod was here before me, but his join date displays as a day after mine. I think this is why so many of us long...

Re: 25th Anniversary, right?

The domain, Starshipmodeler.com was originally purchased in 1996. The discussion forums were started sometime after that. As I recall, Starshipmodeler.net was set up in 1997 and the forums were moved there about that time. There have been a couple renditions of the forums since then but they've rem...

Is this out of a bottle or in a rattle can?I'm not sure if that maters?Treat the primer like sand paper. The 500 grade is gonna be heavy on the filler(I think?).If I am wrong someone please say so.The higher you go,1200,1500 whatever it has the finer/smoother surface layout and much less heavier fil...

The Smooth-On "Task" series or resins are much stronger than their regular casting resins. I'd recommend checking those spec sheets for more info.

I'm a gravity feed convert. You can mix a tiny amount of paint to spray very small areas without wasting a lot of paint. It's great for Alclad for the same reason.

Re: Reco needed: single action gravity feed Brush?

I have one of these. I've owned over a dozen airbrushes in the past 30 years. This is the best, most comfortable, and easy to control brush I have used. I highly recommend it. http://www.iwata-medea.com/products/iwata-airbrushes/neo-for-iwata/neo-trn1/ I suggest buying it here. Amazing service and p...

Re: Super Leopard Mk-XI Grav Tank

What a beautiful and clean design. Very nice, though I spotted the AT-AT face parts as vents, I felt the whole thing seemed completley orginal. Nice work Blappy Happy New Year DEC The AT-AT parts were my nod to the ILM guys and their use of greeblies. Now their designs are greeblies! ;) I wanted to...

A little something I did a few months ago. It's on my Facebook art page "The Blaposphere". The page is public so anyone should be able to view it.

Re: Team Hosers! (or whatever...)

So I just came across the bag with all of the bits for the second model here. I have done a little bit on the first one and intend to finish it. I'm thinking I'll send the second one back to Johnnycrash? Is that still cool with everyone?

Those plates are made out of malamine and can be brittle if too much pressure is applied.

Blaponian Intergalactic Space Saucer

Here is my basic starting point. I've had these for a few years as they caught my fancy for some kind of a saucer so now I can make use of them.

I'll probably grab a few more goodies at the dollar store for it.

I've had these kicking around for years. They are about 14 inches across and made of Styrene so bonus on the material.

whatever you wish is OK, with the exception of animal products. That is because this is to be a construct, not a natural thing – no creatures-as-ships – ie, Moya & Talon from Farscape. I want to question this. Why can't my Slartharian Star Empire intergalactic Wave Rider NOT be a living ship?

I pretty much use gray sandable acrylic auto primer on my builds. Sometimes, depending on whether I want "pre-shading" underneath, I use black. I have found that most rattle can primers except Mr.Color and Tamiya fill too much detail for most builds. You really cannot beat the airbrush pr...
