I dip clear parts in future. You can also use future as an adhesive.

Re: Vallejo equivalent for Pale Metallic Blue
I didn’t use a metallic on mine. Most metallic colors have large pigments that just don’t look right to me. I lightened a bit of intermediate blue with white on my first viper build and it turned out nice. I’ve since read about the Vallejo color Faded PRU Blue in an article that looks great on the v...

Never heard of them and you made me curious to look them up on YouTube. There are quite a few reviews worth checking out there.
Looks like too much mixing of thinner and poly for my taste but YMMV.

Re: Goodbye, Model Master (update)
I think turkey was asking about your source so to speak. In other words, How would your nephew know the business model if he didn’t have first hand knowledge? Right now I’m sure i cant trust anyone’s speculations as accurate unless it was released by the company. Yes I am aware of why he asked that...

Re: Goodbye, Model Master (update)
Talked to my nephew last Friday and according to him it's just the Testors paints which are being discontinued. Their glues and the MM paints will still be made. Does your nephew work for Testors? No he does not work for them, he works for himself driving an 18 wheeler for the past 6-8 years. I thi...

Lookup florymodels on YouTube. He has a video named Kleer but he talks about the pledge product on there. He feels it’s the best thing since future and actually thinks it is future.

Re: Decal woes
My best guess is they needed a heavier clear coat over them. Do you have any more of those decals? Future is self leveling so maybe you could brush on some future next time. I have Used decal film from micro mark with success on old decals by just using a brush. Other than that IDK. I’ve got only a ...

Re: Future (Pledge Floor Care) is it gone for good?
I found the rebranded pledge acrylic floor wax at Walmart and at a hardware store in the paint thinner section in April. I also saw that cleaner you mentioned at a Food Lion grocery store. I will presume it’s the same as Future. I have a bottle labeled Pledge with future that I’ve been using for yea...

Re: alclad rubbing off
This is my first time hearing about Alclad paints rubbing off easily. That surprising to me as they are lacquer based paints and lacquer paints tend to have “Bite” into styrene. The only time I’ve had any paint rub off easily is on a resin model and I think that was my fault by not scrubbing the res...

Re: Good cloth to wipe a model down after a wash?
I think you should try not to be messy with the wash. I think some folks call it a pen wash when the wash is more precisely applied and then clean up any rough edges with a q-tip. It would also go better if the model had a good gloss coat applied prior to the wash.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Acrylic Paint Removal
If you used light coats of paint to start with you should be fine spraying a new color over the old one.
If not I know ammonia will take it off. Just do it outside as it smells.
I have used Easy Off oven cleaner to remove enamel but not sure if it works on acrylic.

Re: Total reboot, choice of paints?
If I had to start over I guess it would be a mix of Vallejo and tamiya acrylics. I would buy their thinners and flow aid as well.
As far as to letting paint sit in the airbrush over night I don't know of any paint that would not dry up the insides of your airbrush.

My guess would be that it wasn't clean enough. Remove all the primer and scrub it again with something like Comet and a nylon brush.

Re: Two part mold cunudrums part 2
I would think that's happening because the mold is too thin. The image looks like one mold is thicker than the other. Do they both bulge or just the thinner one. If that's the case then you should be able to thicken the one side. You could make a mother mold. My brother had some luck with a product...

Re: Two part mold clay cunudrums
As long as its not stuck to your master you should be ok. Just so long as we aren't talking about a lot stuck to your mold. Maybe carefully use isopropyl alcohol and a qtip if its bothering you. Just be careful not to break the seal between your mold and master while doing it.
