Homemade, inexpensive vacuum chamber for degassing

I went and built a Vacuum Chamber for degassing small amounts of either RTV or Resin

I've also taken pictures and posted on my site a quickie instruction set for building your own

Yes, they have LED's as small as 1.8mm; just over 1/3 the diameter of a 5mm.

>If the resin DOES NOT cure, it is a bad batch. Well, there was some left in my mix-pour cup that I left on the work table.... it's been 54 hours now and even THAT is still gooey. I've given up on the Alumilite - I can't even find specs on it anywhere - ordered some Smooth On.... we'll see how that ...

>Are you covering up the mold opening? I understand this can cause problems by not letting heat escape. Condesation or something happens that doesn't let it cure completely. Nope, leaving the pour and overflow holes open for expansion and bubble release (if needed) >Also it is possible you might hav...

Yes, I'm using their RTV with release, and I'm warming the mold in a 130 oven for 10 minutes

Problem is, it NEVER hardens..... the second cast is still down there, flowing all over the scrap cardboard I put it on.

Problems with resin casting

Ok, I'm trying to cast my own Bussard Domes for the AMT-E I'm using Alumilite Water Clear. Here's my problem; this is with new cans of resin and catalyst. 1st cast, adding transparent red dye; mix 50/50 by weight (yes, I have a gram scale) according to instructions; mold is pre-heated; pour went fin...

Ok, I've been doing some ordering and here's my "results" Jameco - fast order processing, fast shipping; even the ground service to me took only 3 days - IC's, resistors, caps, boards, wire, misc. Unique LED's (http://www.unique-leds.com/index.php) - probably the best place I've seen. They...

?I need to create exactly what the title says....how do I do it? >I have experience with circuit boards and LED's but i need a bit of help for this one. I've actually designed something already for this. 555 timer circuit for blink rate feeds into 4017 Decade counter - jumping pin 5 to 15 (3 outputs...

Re: Fading circuit

>>The pulse width modulator that is in the sticky thread can also be adjusted to do this. You can adjust the level that the triangle wave is swinging between and adjust the bias. In your case you want the bias very low, and the swing very small. - Sparky > Thanks, I'll check that out and see where i...

Fading circuit

>>I would use a single-chip computer, which could do this easily. And the cost would be comparable to the circuit on the webpage. Of course the people who know of me are really surprised ... - jwrjr And of course, though I've programmed anything from a C-64 to an AS-400, I have NO idea how to progra...

Fade to dim

I'm looking to install a pulser circuit in a model I'll be starting soon. Thing is, I don't want the standard - start at black, fade to full, fade to black. What I want is a low-level glow at it's minimum, fade to full, fade back to the base low-level. Can I adapt a circuit like this one http://www....
