Yep, you guessed right, they connect to the relay and then to the lower saucer.
As far as I know, Trekmodeler hasn't released any upgraded schematics to correct the oversight. A word of advice; Test. Then test again. And again. Repeat the test. And... Good luck!

You're welcome, I'm happy to help.
The front of the shuttlebay is supported by a locator hole aft of the arboretum so the endcap won't be supporting any significant weight, but when dryfitting you have to remember about that pesky fantail nav light underneath...

Dremel or sand down those mounting holes & tabs. The shuttlebay walls support the floor of the shuttlebay, if you need added support or 'lift at the lip of the rear of the bay, build it up underneath with small strips of scrap plastic. You will then find that you can 'push' the shuttlebay closer...

Sure, here you go... http://www.trekmodeler.com/services/tm_electronics1/tm_electronics_catpage1.htm As mentioned, instead of wiring diagrams (which I can not comprehend if my life depended on it), the instructions use colour coded wires for the different lights. The kit provides everything you need...

I got the DIY kit - it's cheaper, has good instructions and I'm OK with a soldering iron. There is a guy on here who has the pre-wired kit (Helipilot?) and he has some vids up on Youtube utilising the installation of the pre-made lighting kit. All in all, it has everything you need and I would recom...

Trekmodeler did eventually get back to me and we sorted the problem out - he may have revised the DIY wiring instructions since my original post. I also had a problem with the blinker board - this was rectified via email very quickly. All my wiring is done and I have finally sealed up the secondary ...

I hear ya.

Great product but my service experience hasn't been all that great.
Never mind, I've got it sorted out anyway - there is an error on the instructions. I'm just glad I tested everything before reaching for the glue bottle. :)

Error on Trekmodeler DIY lighting instructions?

I'm just doing the final test lighting for the PL DIY lighting diagram and noticed that the black (negative) lead on the upper saucer for the RCTs and running lights does not appear to connect to the lower saucer relay anywhere. Just wondering if I have missed something somewhere or is this intentio...

I bought a roll of Pactra Trim Tape about 10 years ago and it is still going strong. Essentially it's vinyl tape, extremely adhesive and very strong. One roll has eight different widths from around half an inch to 1/32nd of an inch. You get a lot of tape in the roll too. I have found it an invaluabl...

Revolving stand for lit PL Refit

Hi guys, I want to build a revolving stand for my (yet to be completed) 1:350th Refit. The idea I have is to mount the Trekmodeler Refit pole stand http://www.trekmodeler.com/services/tm_electronics1/base_stand_pole/images/refit_pole_stand_1000.jpg to a 1 RPM mirror ball motor - something like this;...

Just watched the Mutara Nebula scene from TWOK. The top & rear lights at the stern of the engineering hull flash in sync with the saucer running lights as per the diagram in the link above. In the scene you mention, they are static on - at least the lower one is as you can't see the top. I prefe...

Awesome. Excellent. Thank you so much mate.

Now, I guess that the Madman lighting kit wouldn't work for the Refit because the kit only has six flashers where (if I interpret the diagram correctly) there are 12...?

Maybe John from Madman could help out here.

Cheers, and thanks again.

Refit navigation light/strobe light placement

Hey guys,

Somewhere on the interweb is a diagram which shows the colour and location of the 1701 Refit's navigation & strobe positioning but I can't seem to find it any more.
I'm hoping someone out there can help out please.

Cheers,

Bruce
