ok try this- fill with a small amount of Micro crystal clear, - dry hard- and a small coating og Johnson's Klear/ Future

white Pva which dries clear
or if you want a strong bond- Gator's Grip glue-excess can be removed with a damp cloth- dries clear . Also excellent for PE , and give enough scope for adjustment
