Resin kit Virgin needs advice

I am ready to begin my first resin kit, and have been told a few thing that I'd like to run by the Jedi Council here on the message boards to either comfirm or redirect me. First, I was told to clean & soak the parts in Comet and cold water. I was told that Castrol Super clean works well also. I...

Thanks for all the advice guys, it's really appreciated. I am needing someone to print these out for me. JTGraphics, and JBOT are both swamped, and microscale has a minimum of 125 decals per custom order, so I'm needing someone who prints their own to print them out for me. Please PM me, and I'll se...

Newbie Doobie (love your name BTW), I have used Krylon paints on just about all of my models. You really do need to watch how you use them though. Ken is right, the output is a bit high, so what I do is, use wide swipes from about 1 1/2 - 2 ft away, and short bursts from about a foot. This way also ...

Thanks for all the advice. I started digging in the box, and the previous owner had coppied an article from a magizene about this very kit, so I will need to do some homework before i start. I opened a photobucket account so that I could post build up pics. Since this is my first vacuform kit, it wi...

Thanks for the link Vader. I'll definately do some studying of this before I start. Does the Oberth have an Aztek pattern? I've never noticed it in any pics. I may even light it, but that will be a new thing too, so I don't know yet. Keep the good advice coming!

After it set for around an hour, the decals came back out. but the clear parts were still a bit frosty, lesson learned. The clear was Krylon as well. The one thing I didn't do was shoot a coat of clear after I put the decals on, another lesson learned. Thanks for all the replies, learning as I go. W...

I need Help with a finishing problem

I have been working on a 1/1400 Enterprise E. I fininished all the painting, sealed it with a coat of clear put the decals on, and purchased a can of Krylon Satin Clear, as a substitute for dulcoat. All of the painted clear parts are now milky, and it caused the decals to draw up a bit, and they are...
