Model Master Acryl.... keeps getting better and better

I bought a new airbrush recently (Grex pistol grip) and have been experimenting a lot with different acrylic paints. The Mission Models is my favorite, but I do have to mail order it. For LHS paints my choices are Vallejo, Acryl, and Tamiya. I've been testing up a storm this week and I'm kind of sur...

Re: Reco needed: single action gravity feed Brush?

Iwata M1. Most convenient, reliable, easy to use and clean airbrush I've used to date.

Single action - but you can adjust the airflow with the thumb of the hand you're holding it in.

I would think hard about using rattle cans for that size kit. Tamiya makes some great colors.

'Posts since your last visit'?

Didn't this site used to feature a 'Click here to see posts since your last visit' feature?

I can't see it any more.

Tips on Tamiya XF-86 flat clear and X-22 gloss clear?

I'm looking for recommendations on thinner ratio and PSI for the Tamiya clears.

Generally I thin Tamiya acrylic paint 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner and spray about 18 psi.

But people are suggesting thinning the clears 50/50 or even 20/80 (paint to thinner).

Any suggestions on using these?

Alclad acrylic gloss clear over Tamiya or other flat acrylic

Interesting - anyone try this?

I did not know Alclad made any acrylic finishes.

Anyone using an ultrasonic cleaner to clean airbrush parts?

I don't know if this would be really slick or really useless.

Anyone tried this yet?

Just got a new Iwata single-action H M1 airbrush.....

and it is AWESOME!!!!

So easy to use, so easy to clean.

It's a single action with an adjustable paint flow rotary dial on the back.

It's my new 'go-to' brush. Highly recommended.

You want to thin them just a bit (a little bit). I use a combination of alcohol and distilled water. And a drop or two of acrylic retarder (available at art supply stores) to help prevent the paint from drying in the air. 14-18 psi is a good place to start experimenting. If you have problems with fl...

Horizon Dino question - vinyl and super-glue

I'm building my first vinyl kit, the horizon Apatosaurus. It's a big kit and the neck and tail do not fit particularly well to the body. My plan is - heat them (tail and neck) up a little then apply super-glue to the body and try to man-handle to part so it matches up best as possible, then stick it...

I am VERY partial to Iwata products and use their airbrushes and compresser. The iwata compresser I have is much better than my old Paasche or testors. Quieter, and MUCH less pulsing. Very smooth air flow. It can be a PITA to hook up company a's airbrush to company b's compresser. Iwata has great cu...
