X-Wing Lighting

Can anybody recommend an off the shelf lighting kit that is good for lighting a Studio Scale X-Wing?

I've recently got my hands on an SS model but have very little (actually zero) experience with electronics!

Clear Coat Over Acrylic

Hi Everyone I am currently painting a Fine Molds Snowspeeder with Gunze Sangyo aqueous acrylic paints. I was kind of hoping to apply an aerosol clear coat before and after decaling but unfortunately in New Zealand there doesn't seem to be many acrylic options. What is the best way to go here? Will l...

As you're in the UK I'd point you to Halford's primers. They are acrylic based and compatible with Mr Hobby Aqueous, Tamiya acrylic, Citadel - in fact almost any acrylic or enamel paint you'd care to metion. And about 1/3 the cost of any "hobby" primer. I use the grey and white primers al...

Gunze Primer?

DoGunze Sangyo produce any primers that are suitable with the Mr Hobby Aqueous paints (on plastic)? Preferably something in an aerosol would be good.

Any advice please?

Alternatively can I just use Tamiya rattle can primer?

Thanks.

Paint Chips

I am currently building a Fine Molds Snowspeeder if and wanted to know of an effective paint chipping technique.

I'm a bit of a noob, so want something relatively foolproof!

I was considering hand painting the chips but not sure if they will look obviously painted.

Any advice please.

Yes, I will be painting with acrylic. To be honest I'm finding it difficult to find decent enamel here in New Zealand- I think due to local legislation etc.

Priming Question

I'm getting ready to start painting my Fine Molds Snowspeeder which will be light grey, and was wondering what is the best colour to prime with? I was hoping to attempt some preshading for the first time (I want to get some good panel lines), am I correct in asuming I should use a light primer follo...

Gunze Sangyo Paints

Hi All

Does anybody know where I can buy the above Mr Color paints in the UK?

I can find Mr Hobby aqueous paints here and was also wondering if anybody has any experience using them? Are they any good? What's the best thinner and ratios to use for airbrushing them?

Thanks in advance.

Glue Question

I need some advice please on the best glue to use on plastic model kits. I've just finished a Fine Molds X-Wing 1/72 and used revell contacta glue on it. I had a few issues with it and made a mess in a couple of places. Before I start my FM Falcon can any one recommend a brand/type of glue that work...
