You think it would, reducing the light travel from the source.

Sorry guys. Checked the adafruit blog and someone already
tried. Cuttting the length appears to not affect the performance much if
at all. Just need to recover the cut end with foil, to reflect the light back in.

Has anyone determined, if the length can be cut down without affecting
whats left.
