I always look at kits as points of departure- even if it is just adding some detail where things seem blank. I htink the only kits I have build OOB in the past 30 years are the Bandai Star Trek ships- they fit together like watches and already have the aztecing painted on. . Your right Rich I built...

Hi all, I'm trying to wrap 0.01" styrene sheet around a plastic form (not styrene--made out of the ends of two soft plastic medicine bottles butted together and glued) to make a cylinder, and having little luck. I can't get the wrap tight, it looks terrible, the solvent melts through, etc. The...

I agree balsa needs to be protected with a covering of some sort, I think he said he was going to laminate it with plastic so he should be fine.

Balsa loves to stick to styrene and vise versa....try to pull the styene away if you can....... and you will pull the wood with it.So casting with this combo will be fine!
