Removing paint/ink from plastic signs
As my subject line suggests, has anyone used a solvent to remove the paint or ink from plastic signs? I know I can sand it off but its a pain to do a large area. I was thinking of trying oven cleaner or degreasing detergent in the same way as enamel paint. I'm hoping someone has an easier method.

Yea Ha!! I painted something and it came out right the first time!!! https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3666/33166274621_ae44a2425c_c.jpg Krylon really came through on this one. I think the silver says 50's space ship just right. I wet sanded with 400 grit paper that had been used already so it came out ...

Started slapping plates together! Plastic appetizer plates from Walmart. https://c7.staticflickr.com/6/5516/30877707470_7f427e15de_c.jpg I wasn't sure what kind of plastic these were made of. I thought they were polystyrene but no way to be really sure until glue is applied. The liquid glue worked f...

I have a project or two that would require glueing PVC, ABS, poly carbonate, acrylic, POM and any other parts I can scrounge from computers and printers. I've read that POM is just about unglueable. POM, HDPE,...

POM seems to be similar to PTFE (Teflon) and has similar bonding problems. I love the metal parts in things like this, printers are a good source of high quality cold rolled...
