Re: 25th Anniversary, right?

So this will be twenty-eight. Maybe a real blow out for the 30th anniversary? Wonderfest would be the perfect get together. You'd do better lobbying for it than I, being a more regular attendee, but it is a good idea. I'm going to the Nationals next year, (first time, finally) but aim to make WF in...

It's called "Kool Shade." And the accurate stuff is pretty rare. Some people have resigned to using the window screen material out of their houses.

Re: need glue for most plastics

Regular old Super Glue will work for most plastic, resin, glass, and Metal materials. If you are using styrene from model kits, then you have to use model glue, which will not stick to those other surfaces. Your best bet for an all-around adhesive for everything will be the two-part epoxy stuff you ...

I would not recommend Sketchup, either. While it's easy to draw boxes, etc. in Sketchup, getting a dimensionally correct (and connected) complex object is very difficult. Also, their STL export is primitive (through a plug-in) and mesh repair options are also primitive. Again, what's your time &...

Re: WONG B-WING

My advice would be to try to contact whoever cast the kit. I think maybe it was Ed Holt but I am not sure. Once you find the caster, ask him if he is able to do what is called a "slush cast" for you. He might have to get permission from Al or whoever owns the rights to the kit, and it migh...

I saw something similar a few years ago. I tried a sample kit of it, and it did not work out for resin casting. Only because this stuff melt's when it gets warm, and resin hears as it cures.
