I airbrush Tamiya's XF-86 flat clear acrylic over oil washes without any troubles. I give the wash at least 3 days to dry before clear coating. Hopefully my latest build video gives you an idea of the "flatness" of the finish.

To get the brightness I wanted I decided to switch from 6 to 9V. I should have a video of my finished model in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for responding guys. I think Rocketeer has the answer. I'm using 5mm White LEDs. Not sure about the forward voltage as I don't have a volt meter. I'm using 4, 1.5v AA batteries, so 6V in total. Because the LEDs light up, I'm assuming that means they have a forward voltage of less than 3V. If ...
