Need help for 1st lighting project

Hi all,
I have decided to try my first lighting project on the Ep. 1 droid kit (lit eyes). I never done this before so I would like to know what I need to buy. I've read the FSM book with one kit but I'm looking to do all three droids and trying to keep the same base too it also doesn't state the parts used other than basic descriptions.

Well, I am not sure how big the model is, but you can escape with putting one red LED and use a diffuser to spread the light.

If you can, you might want to take some clear pictures of the model still in the sprue so we can have a better idea
