Advice on patching holes

Well, I sawed the warp nacelles off the pylons on my AMT Enterprise, and I want to fill the holes in the nacelles and re-cut them, but my question is what is the best method? Cut styrene sheet to fit, glue and then fill the cracks normally? Or can I use some tape to cover the hole and then fill with epoxy?

I just bought a bunch of Aves Sculpt Super White, ibd brush-on gel resin, as well as Devcon S33 30-minute and S-209 5 minute epoxy. Which would be best for this particular job?

I assume you're talking about the Refit Enterprise from AMT, and you want to fill the mounting holes, correct?

I'd just fill it with the putty of your choice (Aves is fine) let it dry, and sand it smooth.

I simply cut and filed the hole,testing the fit of my modified pylon as I went along.

I added some styrene cut to the width and extend the pylon itself.
I also cut holes to the same size of the pylon and added them to the nacelle.

There is brass tube for wires to pass through and some hollow space left in the slots that I made in the pylon to allow the wires through.

Initially,the fit was pretty good and after some trial and error and some help from some shims,I got the nacelles to fit snug and stay put on their own.

My saucer sags a bit in the last pic-I'm fixing that.

PS

I simply patched the original hole by glueing a strip of plastic cut to size and inserting it into the old hole.

Use regular glue to set it in and after it dries,use a light coat of CA to get all the seams and get it in there strong.

Then just sand to shape,prime,finish putty,sand and prime again.
