So, Im finishing up my new 1/72 FM X-wing and I'm ready to put the blast marks on the thing. What I need is a good sooty grimy dark grey or black. I was considering ero1 grey with some silver or steel mixed in.
What would you guys recommend?

Polly Scale Grimy Black is one of the most useful bottles of paint you can own. I use it for exhaust stains on my WWII aircraft:

Most hobby shops that cater to model trains carry Poly Scale. It can be mixed very thin with alcohol and sprayed in light coats to slowly build up the color.
