Chisel scriber? How does it work?

While surfing for scribing tools to see what was available, come across these at hlj:

How does chiseling a panel line work?

Much like dragging an exacto blade backwards, carves a small furrow. These look purpose made vs using a #11 blade.

Finally understand how the thing works. (Up until now, I thought the other side was an angled blade for cutting and carving.)

Those are VERY tricky scribers. I like the round/pen/needle type ones myself. They take longer but are easier to control.

I won't be getting these. Tried scribing with the back side of a blade and found guiding the tool in a perfect line difficult, it turned out looking a wee bit like a snake line and also had small variations in depth.
