Painting an EA Omega (B5)

Hi folks, long time lurker and found im need need of some advice from you very fine people.
I brought a Warp Agamemnon a while ago and ive finished building it and have come to painting it,

yeh

so does anyone have any advice on a) the colours i should try using and b) how to apply the Generic panels effect?,
i should mention while i have an airbrush, i describe myself as novice, certainly not up to doing that kinda fine detail by hand heh.

Any advice certainly appreciated

I think a standard base color is medium gray. You can find this common aircraft color from Tamiya and all other manufacturers. Get a dark gray as well and practice panel effects like this:

Paint a plastic sheet your base color or just prime it. Cut out a rectangle in another piece of cardstock or plastic - an average sized notch. Use the darker gray in your airbrush and paint a graded gray color to the notch. Get the feel of how to shade from the base color to the darker gray. When you move the card you'll see how dark it was.

Then you'll need to decide whether to notch or mask your way thru all those panels.
