Difficulty cutting plasticard

I usually try to cut it with a razor blade or Xacto and I find it doesnt cut through on one pass. It doesnt cut all the way through on two passes. It may do on three passes but the result is ragged. Its annoying and slow. I always use a metal ruler as a guide when I'm doing this. I see scratchbuilders produce excellent results with plastic card, making it look easy, and it leaves me with the impression that I am brain damaged or something.

What am I doing wrong guys?

Cut your part ever so slightly oversized, and sand the edge back. This will also help straighten out any wonky cuts you may make, even with a straight edge. And don't try and cut all the way through the plastic. Make two or three (more for thicker plastic) passes with steady, moderate, and even pressure, then bend the plastic till it snaps apart. Then sand the edge up. This is known as the "scribe and snap" method. Works all the time.
