Who wants a Power supply kit for Madman Lighting products?

Post by Madman Lighting »

Hi all,

Some have asked for it and now I may be able to provide it and at realistic cost.

Who wants a plug-in wall power supply for their Madman Lighting kits? It would make 12VDC and have enough power to run up to three of my cards. That would be any 3 kits together or 1 BIG Starship kit.

It would include:
Wall transformer, regulated and compact,
DC power plugs
Extra wire

With this, all of my kits could run 12 LEDs per card.

You'd need to solder a little, but just a couple wires and no tiny parts.

Hmmm. I wonder if I'm barking up the wrong tree here....

Maybe I should ask what people are willing to pay for such a kit?

Interesting. I would think since people are always asking what power supply to include with their projects, your solution would be a no brainer.

Oh well. To each his own. I'd buy one like what you described for $10 to $15. I don't know what your margin on such things would be though.

I could probably produce such a kit for around $15, I gotta do the math for exact pricing but somewhere around there.

The advantage of such a kit would be: no-brainer setup and plug in. Plus you could mix kits together.

Well I did my market research tonight and here's what I can provide, for real, as a power supply kit:

1) 12VDC 300mA regulated and filtered and new wall supply.
2) Matching plug for the one that comes with the supply
3) Couple of wire-wrap posts on the plug
4) Several feet of wire-wrap wire to hook it all up.
5) A 9V battery clip to get started with.

Price: About $17 retail.

This will get you a guaranteed to work, good quality, new supply, a DC power plug to connect it into, hookup wire, and some nice instructions.

This means you dont need to fool around at all and everything WILL JUST WORK.

All for about 20% LESS than you'd pay for just the supply at Radio Shack.

So NOW how many people want one?
