USS Sulaco 1/600
Hi,
Three years ago I posted some pics of my scratchbuild Sulaco on the reader gallery. The model is still on the bench but a lot have been done.
You can see some pics of the model on my Blog;

I don't work "full time" on this model so it takes time....

Some words about how it's done because my blog is only in French;
The main hull is made with balsa. I like balsa because it's easy to use, sculpt,...
After making all the big shape, I cover the model with Evergreen plastic plate, scrib the panel lines and details are done thanks to the pics given by StarshipModeler (Hardware reference).
It's the first time I build something big like this but I have to admit that's very satisfying to do everything by myself.
Now the hardest thing is to finish it because I always want to add detail, add details, add details........

...Doh....seems to have a problem !!!
I will check it tonight and fix the problem but the website Blog4Ever itself seems to meet some problems.
If it doesn't work properly, I will share with an other way (Photobucket or Picasa).
Is anyone have a link or a source with pics or info concerning the original studio model of the Sulaco (Other than the pics provided on Starship modeler) ?
There are some details I can't clearly see on the pics I have.

Hello all,
So, I'm on holiday for one week now so I will continue my Sulaco.
Working on the turret on the bottom and also the main engines (probably the hardest thing on this model because it's all round shape).
I will take some pictures soon.
To DavidlGreen; I really don't know when this model will be finished, I don't work full time on this model so it can take time to finish it but thank you for your interest.
But why would you like I mail you when the model will be finished ?
So let's go scratchbuilding now !!!
