Nebulizer VooDoo FX kit

Post by Prince of Styrene II »

Got a question from a lighting newbie. I have the VooDoo FX kit for the Nebulizer. The wiring diagram shows there's 6 LEDs but I recieved 5 in my package. Should there be 6 total?

No, I havn't contacted them. Just thought I'd poke my head in here to see what everyone else thought.

Here's the wiring diagram:

Here's my board so far. Seems to be in order with fairly clean solder points & no foulups I can see. Red & black to the right are the battery, non-twisted black & white is the on/off, all twisted black & white are LEDs.

Well, I may have solved my own problem. I went down to Radio Shack & bought an LED just to see if adding one in the last spot would make work. Suprise, it did! But when they all lit, two of them did not. I think that may have been my fault, though. I'm using one of those "Cold Heat" soldering guns. Since it has it's own power, I noticed that when I was soldering a couple of the joints a couple of the LEDs flickered on. I think I may have fried them. Oh well! Thankfully I have some replacements.

Thanks for the help anyway. :D

Well, that's good news. I was about to comment on the soldering as one of the black cables came off in the 'backlit' picture.

But I am surprised at the 'Cold Heat' iron doing that. I hope there was no power to the circuit when you were soldering with the 'Cold Heat'.

Looking at VoodooFX's instructions, they were very nicely done.

No, the battery was never hooked up when I was doing any soldering. It is a curious happening with the Cold Heat gun. Somethign to be careful of when I do my Iron Man kit! Right now I'm hot gluing the parts into place then I can put the halves together & take care of the seams. I'll post some pics when I'm done.
