Equate toothpaste to sandpaper for polishing?

Post by DeltaVee »

Would anyone have any knowledge of what toothpaste, Blue Magic paste, and Novus plastic polish equate to in terms of sandpaper grit number? I'm sanding an entire craft with multiple grades of paper through at least 6000 and wonder if I should follow that with one of these pastes/liquids? Or do they do different things entirely? Thanks.

Oh, probably about 10k for toothpaste, 15-20k for the others. Maybe more.

To get even close you have to move beyond sandpaper and into polish films.

Thanks. I guess I have polishing films. It's Micro-mesh and it goes from 2400 to 12,000. so I could use toothpaste but the films would do the same thing till I got up into the polishing compounds?
