Improvised Tools

I was in need of a small sanding drum type tool, my dremel was unavailable and I didn't feel like digging it out. I scrounged around my work area and found:
(1) 12V DC motor
(1) 6V DC wall wart
(1) push button
a dead USB hub
on/off knob from a broker set of pc speakers
electrical tape
assorted grit sand paper
superglue

Th USB hub donated the plastic for the motor/button, it's all taped together for now. I made sanding drums from the sand paper, plugged it in and it works great. It's slow enough to control easily and takes little practice to master.

I've used a drill bit, shaft collar and large abrasive disk on my mill to make a slit cutter.

I'll admit, that little sanding rig is a heck of a job of bashing.
