protective coat for decals

Post by ash1502 »

i have applied all my decals to my revell uss voyager model. obviously its been painted already lol
i was just wondering is there anything people would recomend that i can perhaps spray over the model that will not dull, or shine up its appearance, but is mainly for sealing the decals onto the model?

What did you have under the decals? Usually you apply decals over a shiny finish like gloss acrylic or lacquer. Future acrylic floorwax works great for this. Assuming you used some type of clear gloss finish under your decals you can use the same on top to seal them. Once the sealing coat dries you can spray with a flat or matte acrylic or lacquer to bring down the gloss. More for a flat finish and less for a semi-gloss or satin finish.
