A Few LED Selection Questions

Post by NickMiller »

I have several questions concerning LED selection for use in the 1/350 scale Polar Lights NCC-1701 Enterprise:
1) How much candle power should I be speccing for nav and strobe lights? Window illumination? Main hull spotlights?
2) Which color temperature looks best when illuminating windows? Cool White (~6000k) or Warm White (~4500K)
3) Which viewing angle works best with nav and strobe lights? Wider? Diffuse?
4) Is there any reason to get the larger DLM Federation Flasher Board now that his smaller board is available?

TIA,
Nick

Don't know about the DLM circuit I have used a couple of Trek Modellers and they are great.

For lighting just the windows the higher rated ones are great, but for lighting the mini kits I added a few extra warm white LEDs to give a more natural light on the current one I am working on
